Busy bees at West Coast Cooler FASHIONWEEK

17 October 2008

We're right in the middle of one of our busiest events, West Coast Cooler FASHIONWEEK, when all the backstage hustle and bustle fills us full of excitement for a few days. Its ever so glam out front, but like a graceful swan swimming across a placid lake, the paddling below the surface is what really makes it move so gracefully. But I'll not give away too many trade secrets, you gotta be there to soak up the atmosphere...

Front of house we're delighted to welcome the very best of the High Street to our catwalks - including House of Fraser, French Connection, Great Plains, Warehouse, Kookai and Coast as well as newcomers to Belfast, AVOCA, and local designers Una Rodden, Mary Rose McGrath and Julie Ann Graham. The top shops among our local boutiques including Harper, Madison Rose, Atelier, Liberty Blue and Pillar Box Red in Newry (to name a few) will also be showcasing their collections in the opening shows.

Vintage specialists Oxfam Vintage, Raspberry Beret and Previously Loved will play a key part in the event and we're so excited to see Miss Tracey from Previously Loved's darhling vintage number by Vivienne Westwood.

This Friday 17 th, we're also very excited to be showing the best of the Lisburn Roadretailers - including Coral, Jourdan, Blush, Posh Frocks, EK Eyewear and much, much more. For the full show schedules, links to all participant retailers and even a look at this season's key trends, log on to www.belfastfashionweek.com

The office is a bit like Piccadilly Circus this week with lots of deliveries coming and going - clothes arriving for photoshoots for our sister company Fashion Pharmacy www.fashionpharmacy.net and masses of goodies for the goodie bags at BFW. In the goodie bags, which are the best ever, there are bottles of skinny water, diet cokes, King Velvet Crisps, lots and lots of Clarins lotions and potions and passes for Galgorm spa and LA Fitness gyms. Plus many more - but in short, there's everything to keep you in tip top form for Autumn. We're also excited to hear that this Friday is the broadcast date of BBC NI's Magic Party, which was filmed when the programme moved to our bare and empty offices during Spring FW and we hosted a magic party for the face of FASHIONWEEK that season, Jude Nabney. Oh what fun, the team from San Greal bartending came along and served drink til it literally dried up and then the boys from Snow Patrol turned up and filming had to stop briefly. We love surprises!

Anyway, before we go on too much, please let us know what you think of our new website´┐Ż we love it and feel it is a great reflection of our work and our style, but what do you think? Yours are the most important opinions...  Contact us
