'The Relationship' exhibition launches in the Salamander Gallery

Artist's Justine Glasgow, Angela Ginn and Joanne Irvine

Three of Northern Ireland’s renowned female artists will launch a contemporary exhibition of their exquisite paintings in Lisburn Road’s Salamander Gallery on 15 May.

Justine Glasgow, Angela Ginn and Joanne Irvine will showcase their latest collection of work in an exhibition titled ‘The Relationship’ in the gallery which has recently opened in the unusual surroundings of a Victorian Chapel Hall.

Justine who has been practising professional art for the past 10 years has a wealth of experience working on community projects with Creative Youth Partnership and has also founded a Young Artists Group in Holywood in 2004. Her work has featured in over 20 exhibitions since 2001, and her distinct style with hidden meaning makes her work extremely sought after by collectors.

Justine said of her work, “With each new work, I embark on a powerful journey that draws on spontaneity and symbolism to bridge the gap between the conscious and the subconscious.”

Angela who has received numerous awards, including awards from The Arts Council of Northern Ireland, studied and lived in London before returning home to focus on her work which has exhibited regularly in Ireland and Europe. Angela finds inspiration from spending time in rural locations throughout the Summer months, and in particular ‘The Relationship’ will reveal her body of work in mixed media which was created last Summer in Provence, France and The Tyrone Guthrie Centre, Monaghan.

Joanne, who is the third artist in the trio displaying from May to June finds time for her passion to paint when time permits amidst being a mum and substitute art teacher in schools such as Methody and Victoria College. Joanne believes; “Painting gives us a visual language that everyone can receive, understand and respond to.”

So whether you are an art fanatic, or simply intrigued, the launch of ‘The Relationship’ exhibition takes place on Saturday 15 May and will run until the end of June in the Salamander Gallery where guests will enjoy a glass of Guinness or sparkling wine whilst enjoying the contemporary art.

Therapie launches in Northern Ireland

04 May 2010

Ladies of Northern Ireland spend on average £100.00 per month on beauty treatments and as they are partial to a little pampering from time to time, the arrival of Thérapie Clinic in Belfast brings a chic and relaxing environment to indulge all their beauty needs, right in the heart of the city.

Set in the prestigious Queen's Arcade, the clinic is a haven for pampering and indulgence. Already established in Dublin and Galway as an exclusive urban sanctuary, Thérapie is now bringing its wealth of experience and elite treatments to the glamorous ladies of Belfast; and the men are in for a treat too!

With an extensive treatment list, the clinic offers hair removal using various techniques - choices range from the traditional form of waxing, the ancient Eastern method of threading or for those more daring, they also offer the ultimate in hair removal - the Soprano laser treatment, which is virtually pain free! By using a sweeping, paintbrush technique, the pain-free procedure is shorter, more comfortable and gives great results. Waxing and laser treatments are also available for image conscious men who like to stay smooth.

For all things relaxing, you will find everything from Indian Head Massage to exotic and organic facials for all skin types. The clinic has chosen world class brands such as Dermalogica, Image skincare and Kéraskin which in turn gives their customers the best choice of treatments to suit their needs.

For a touch of glamour the semi-permanent eye lashes are the latest trend to be taking Belfast by storm, and the award winning Nouveau Lashes will leave your lashes looking thicker, longer and best of all, natural.

"We are delighted to be able to open Thérapie in Belfast after its huge success in Dublin and Galway. Queen's Arcade is a perfect location for us in the bustling city centre, and we're excited about bringing our expertise in laser and various other treatments to our new clients here." said Anna-Louise Kenny, the manager of the clinic.

Thérapie will officially open on Thursday 06 May when guests will be treated to a bottle of West Coast Cooler whilst sampling the treatments available at the clinic.
