Tasty Opportunities with Tesco

26 October 2010

Tasty Foods, one of Northern Ireland’s leading food manufacturers, is the latest range of local products available to buy on the shelves of supermarket giant, Tesco.  Established in Dunmurry in 1990, Tasty Foods has grown into a key player in the local food industry, with a BRC A Grade Accreditation on its production facilities.  The new supply contract will further cement the company’s reputation for high quality sauces, ready meals, family pies, as well as great value for money.

This new business partnership has left both Tasty Foods and Tesco feeling excited about the future.  Adrian Brannigan, Tasty Foods Sales and Marketing Director, says “We have worked with Tesco NI to offer an initial product range that fits with the tastes and requirements of local consumers, including curry & gravy sauces, as well as family pies and we look forward to launching more products with Tesco in the near future.  Our locally produced range is recognised for its quality and value for money, which is especially appropriate in the current economic climate.  Tesco has the confidence that we can meet its business requirements, given the extensive growth programme that we have in place.”

Sandra Weir, Buyer at Tesco NI, is equally positive about the partnership, which further emphasises Tesco’s commitment to locally sourced products and supporting the Northern Irish economy, she said: “The new range of products from Tasty Foods is another example of Tesco catering for local tastes in Northern Ireland. We are excited about developing our business further with this local supplier”

Conor Daykin, Managing Director of Tasty Foods added “Financial director Kathy Daykin and myself have built up Tasty Foods over the last 20 years and recently invested £1million in our production facilities , with further expansion plans for the future. We look forward to investing further and creating more employment locally through this opportunity with Tesco.”

The Tasty Foods product range will be available to buy from the start of October in Tesco stores around Northern Ireland.
