Celebrated chef Shaun Hanna has been announced as the resident chef at the newly opened Linen Hill in The OUTLET, Banbridge. Kilkeel-born Shaun has a wealth of experience - both in Northern Ireland and internationally under the guidance of American celebrity chef Charlie Palmer – and he has also gained many personal awards within his profession including reaching the quarter finals of BBC2 Masterchef: The Professionals.

His new venture at Linen Hill is a brand new kitchen and deli style restaurant and is set to attract foodies and coffee lovers alike with its extensive menu, unique selection of seasonal specials and range of pastries and will create 20 new jobs in the area. He said: “The restaurant is a joint project by myself and co-proprietors John and Fiona Robinson.  I have a passion for local, seasonal ingredients, and champion the world class products available from the numerous artisan producers on our doorstep – best described using my favourite phrase ‘keeping it local’.  We bake in house each morning to ensure that our customers have only the freshest scones, breads and  produce our own range of exclusive deli items for them to take home.  We even grow some of our own herbs, salads and vegetables in our poly tunnel and kitchen garden five minutes away from Linen Hill at Loughbrickland – it doesn’t get fresher than that!   So to sum up the team at Linen Hill – John grows it, Shaun cooks it and Fiona bakes it!”

Business partner John Robinson added “Linen Hill will have a warm and welcoming feel where families and couples will mingle with business people, shoppers and food lovers alike. The menu will feature local, fresh, light and confident food with daily and weekly changes, all prepared to a high standard and all with an accessible price point.  It will also offer in-house deli products, local artisan products and a mini dessert bar.”

Appletiser StyleFIX sparkled at Whitewater Shopping Centre

12 June 2013

For the fourth year running, Appletiser StyleFIX hit the road and continued the tour at Whitewater Shopping Centre, Newbridge on Saturday 08 June.  A fabulous runway show and beauty stations brought local stylistas a one-stop, fashion-fix as they shopped.
Audience members at the event enjoyed high-impact fashion shows throughout their shopping Saturday with models showcasing a whole host of hot-to-trot seasonal trends on the catwalk.

With a super selection of stylish high street stores, Appletiser StyleFIX had something to set every style aficionado’s heart racing including special ‘Day at the Races’ looks to tie in with the nearby Curragh racecourse. Miss Kildare Ally Garvey also attended the event for a question and answer session on styling for the races with show organiser and stylist Cathy Martin, leaving the crowd full of fashion inspiration for the summer months ahead. Those who attended also had the opportunity to sample delicious complimentary Appletiser while receiving free advice and pampering mini makeovers from make-up brands Urban Decay and relaxing hand and arm massages from The Body Shop.

Appletiser’s handbag sized 350ml bottle is great for every girl’s lifestyle and is handy to drop in your bag when on the go. Tara O’Rourke, Head of Marketing for Appletiser in Ireland comments: “Appletiser is a unique gently sparkling drink, made from 100% apple juice and has no added sugars or preservatives. The new, light plastic bottle is ideal for busy ladies who are rushing from one place to another or who are lucky enough to lunch at the local park, as it slots into a handbag perfectly, making it even easier to enjoy that magical fruit burst of Appletiser while still getting in one of their five a day.”

Stylist and show organiser Cathy Martin saidfashionistas had a lot to be tempted by while shopping.  “Summer has finally arrived and we’re ready to get out there and don the season’s latest trends.  Summer is going to be awash with a flurry of florals, soft pastels, chic nudes and colour bursts such as classic emerald greens - just perfect for any Appletiser lady.”

She continued: “The catwalk shows provided the ideal opportunity for audience members to relax and embrace the fashions on display. The beauty consultants were also on hand offering complimentary make-up demonstrations, making suggestions on how to re-fresh your make-up bag to match your beautifully stylish new spring/summer wardrobe.”

Appletiser continues its tour and will bring Stylefix to Mahon Point Shopping Centre, Cork in August; St Stephens Green Shopping Centre, Dublin (Saturday 07 September) as well as Belfast in September.
