Mark has been known for his striking resemblance to George Best for several years now. In early 2010 the writers for “Dancing Shoes” The George Best story, Martin Lynch and Marie Jones were nestled away in The Slieve Donard Resort and Spa in Newcastle County Down getting the script together for the Stage Play on Georges life. Martin joked with Mark asking if he could sing or act – Mark with no experience was called to Audition for the part of George as the playwrights were so struck by his remarkable resemblance to a young George Best. Although Mark failed to get the part and lost out to a professional actor, he was seen on UTV’s documentary on the musical being made and was invited to the World Premiere of the show at the Grand Opera House in Belfast. He was sat beside Angie and Calum Best and this is were people really started to see the remarkable likeness to George Best.

In October 2012 Aer Lingus ran a competition to find a modern day George Best Lookalike to launch their flight route from Belfast City Airport. Mark was entered into this by an unknown source and came out on top to be crowned the official George Best lookalike and was featured in promotional campaigns including Aer Lingus’s worldwide inflight magazine.

Mark started attracting attention around the country featuring in numerous papers with Photo Shoots with Calum Best and Ian Best (Georges Brother).

Mark has also been working closely with the CEO of the FAI John Delaney and has done pr stunts at the Aviva stadium with past Ireland soccer players.

Virgin Media were one of the latest clients to use Mark in their recent launch of their TiVo service in Manchester.
