Andy is a presenter on Citybeat - one of Belfast’s biggest commercial radio stations. He started out as a DJ at the age of 14 hosting private gigs and mobile discos across Northern Ireland and fulfilling his passion for music. Some of these gigs included Christmas parties for BBC Northern Ireland and an after party for over 1500 people at the World Water Polo Championships in 1999.

Andy achieved his break into the Belfast club scene in 1997 as resident DJ in the M Club where he frequently worked with famous artists such as Atomic Kitten, DJ Pele and Lock & Load.

In 2002 Andy took up a residency at Bar Retro in Hillsborough, and for 6 successful years built up crowds of around 600 people every Friday and Saturday night.  Combined with this, Andy worked very closely with the management team of the Hillsborough International Oyster Festival which celebrated its 18th year in 2010.  He headed up the music programme for the festival for 4 years and worked with world renowned DJ, Jupiter Ace.

Andy’s commercial radio career began in March 2010 when he was offered a prime time weekend slot on Citybeat on Friday and Saturday nights.  The Get It On show features the biggest hits from the 70’s 80’s and 90’s, and combined with Andy’s outgoing and charming personality, the listeners get a real kick-start to their weekend. Andy also still enjoys hosting private parties and makes frequent DJ appearances at nightclubs across the province.

Outside the music scene Andy has judged and compered a number of heats for Miss Northern Ireland and when he has some time off, is an avid fan of motorbike racing and also enjoys getting the chance to relax with friends and taking some quality time out with his family.
