Séainín Brennan is one of Northern Ireland's most prolific actresses. 

 

Séainín is about to hit our screens in the second series of the award winning primetime drama 'THE FALL'. Séainín will reprise her role of grieving mother Liz Tyler in the psychological crime thriller, written by Emmy Award winner Allan Cubitt, alongside Gillian Anderson as Detective Superintendent Gibson and Jamie Dornan as serial killer Paul Spector.

 

THE FALL marks the second major primetime role for Séainín. She previously starred opposite Philip Glenister, as his English girlfriend Frances, in the BBC 1 primetime drama 'HIDDEN'. 

 

Séainín was subsequently named 'Woman of the Year in the Arts' 2012 for her breakthrough performance in 'HIDDEN'.

 

Séainín can be seen in cinemas in 2015 in her debut movie role in DARE TO BE WILD. The film is based on the true story of Mary Reynolds, a young woman who defies the odds to become the first Irish winner of the Chelsea Flower Show gold medal. Séainín plays Dr. Jaqui Finch, opposite Shameless actress Emma Greenwell, in this new romantic comedy written and directed by Vivienne de Courcy.

 

Séainín has also been working on a new thriller, written and directed by Academy Award winner Oorlagh George. STRANGER WITH A CAMERA is in very early stages of development.

 

2014 also saw Séainín play Dr. Bryan Morad in the new HALO: NIGHTFALL series, by executive producer Ridley Scott.

 

Séainín is currently in pre-production for a new exciting short film "GIRONA", which she will start filming in January 2015. Writer and director Paul McGuigan wrote the role of Sophie in "GIRONA" with Séainín in mind, after meeting her at the first read through of THE FALL.

 

Séainín has tread the boards of some of the most prestigious theatres and her performances have won her rave reviews across Ireland and the UK, most notably for her performances as Regine in the World Premiere of Ibsen’s ‘GHOSTS’ by Irish playwright Frank McGuinness at Bristol Old Vic and for her portrayal as Helen Woods in the Irish Premiere of ‘SCENES FROM THE BIG PICTURE’ by Owen McCafferty, directed by Conal Morisson.

 

A familiar face on the Dublin stage, Séainín has worked with award winning Broadway director, David Esbjornson, in Arthur Miller’s ‘DEATH OF A SALESMAN’ at The Gate Theatre, opposite Hollywood stalwart Harris Yullen.

 

She created the role of Rebecca Loos in the world premiere of ‘MACBECKS’, the smash hit comedy about David Beckham at the Olympia Theatre.

 

Séainín is also one of Ireland's most sought after voiceover artists. She currently voices a large number of high profile campaigns for multinational companies and government agencies on both TV and Radio.

 

Séainín has had leading roles in a myriad of award winning BBC and RTE Radio Dramas including: Tempting Faith; The Van; The Snapper; Outline Permission, Not Just for Christmas; Sex, Lattes and Paperclips; Ruthless; Sunk; Blue Skies; Mass Observation; Dear Mr. Spectator; Do's and Don'ts for the Mentally Interesting*; Reprise & No Going Back [BBC 4]; An Enemy of the People* [BBC 3]; Rush [BBC 7] and Babies [RTE].

Season 2 of THE FALL is on BBC 2 on Thursday nights at 9pm and on RTE 1 at 9.30pm on Sunday nights. It will air in the US on Netflix in January 2014 - Season 1 is currently available in the US via Netflix.

 

Séainín trained professionally at the Guildford School of Acting (GSA), Surrey and subsequently at the Irish Film Actors Studio, Dublin.
